Season Record:
NFL: 62-51-5 (+7.27 Units)
CFB: 73-51 (+12.26 Units)
Cowboys @ 49ers -4 Total 45.5 (Brandon’s Best Bet)
I’ve had a funny feeling about these Cowboys all season. Back in the spring, I sat down with a buddy and FCL league member (that’s Greg and I’s prestigious fantasy football league) Tim D. We were having beers, and Tim asked me who I liked to win the Super Bowl. I said the Dallas Cowboys. He’s also a Cowboys fan, and trust me, I prefer nothing more than to shit on them every chance I can. But it’s what the plums felt at the time. If you remember in the offseason, it felt like nobody was talking about Dallas. The spotlight was all over Philadelphia, and rightfully so, as they proved to be even better than people expected. I love a talented team that’s being slept on, which is what kept the Cowboys on my mind. But then Tryon Smith got hurt, and that ruined it all for me. I was WAY off anything Cowboys and just chose to ignore them when I eventually placed my future bets.
Here we are 6-7 months later from that night, and now I am actively shopping the market to place a Cowboys future. I see them as high as 10/1, while they were 20/1 months ago (CLV, baby!). I’ll even take it a step further - I’m also on the hunt for a Dak MVP Super Bowl ticket. Go ahead and roll your eyes, I understand how this can be vomit inducing. My wife even looks at me differently when she knows I’m supporting the Cowboys in any way, shape or form.
Now I do have one concern, and it has nothing to do with football. The problem for the Cowboys is that the ultimate mush is on them too…

As much as I love the Niners (a team I do have a future ticket on) and as much as I love Kyle Shanahan, I think the Cowboys have what it takes the pull off the upset and make a run. Dak just played what some are calling the best game of his career, Tony Pollard looks better every week, the offensive line is dialed in, and Dan Quinn is still a phenomenal D coordinator.
The narrative you’ve probably heard all week is that Dallas is in a bad scheduling spot. It’s true - they just played on MNF, now have a short week before flying cross country to San Fran, while this also being their 4th road game in a row. But that doesn’t concern me. All I needed to see was the respect from the oddsmakers with this line. The Niners opened -4, and it’s already dropped to -3.5. SF is getting 66% of spread bets, and 60% of ML bets. Not only do I think this number was short, but now we have a little reverse line move to the Boys? Yea…sign me up.
The Pick: Cowboys +4
Bengals @ Bills -5.5 Total 49 (Greg’s Best Bet)
The rematch to the game that never was. Damar Hamlin has been reportedly showing up at the Bills facility on a daily basis, but it’s uncertain if he will be at the game on Sunday. What a motivational ace in the hole if he does. Both teams needed a bit of luck to escape backup quarterbacks in the Wildcard round, and now they look to square off in the most anticipated game of the weekend.
The line opened at Buffalo -4 and has since moved up, but some of this has to do with key injuries to the offensive line of Cincinnati. Still, does’t this line feel a little high to you? Seriously…who wants to fade Joe Burrow?
71% of the public are riding with the Bengals despite their injury woes. Typically I’m here to buy bad news, but both teams have their share of role players banged up and no one seems to mind who got hurt for Cincy, as long as they didn’t go to LSU.

In a game where no one can believe the Bengals are getting 5.5 (and moving up), I’ll be ripping shots of port wine out of bowling balls, eating rocks, and jumping though my coffee table - Bills MAFIA!
The Pick: Bills -5.5
Giants @ Eagles -7.5 Total 47.5 (Jake’s Best Bet)
In 1956 Fred Gibson wrote a timeless tale about a boy (Travis Coates) and his dog. Old Yeller went on to become one of the best selling children’s novels of all time. What the fuck does this have to do with the New York Giants, you might ask? Young Travis and Jake both know there’s only one way to treat a trendy dog. You fade them.
The G-Men find themselves getting the majority of the bets and the money as they travel to the visit the well rested Eagles. Philly swept the season series, but people don’t care about that. They care about how majestic Danny Dimes looked against the worst tackling team in the NFL last week. Philadelphia is a whole different animal than Minnesota. Enjoy the ride while it lasted Giants fans. The future is bright, but Saturday will be a dark, dark day.
