So this is not the norm. We are going a bit off the rails this week because we’re struggling to find conviction on one side or total for our best bets. Rather than squabble back and forth or put out a pick we don’t fully love, we decided to make this week a week of TD props. We each have a guy that we love, so we’re leaning into it.
One responsible unit on each guy.
You can tune in to hear our takes on the games here:
Here’s a brief summary of where our heads are at for Sunday:
Bills at Chiefs:
Degen likes the Bills, Steak and Greg like the Chiefs. We all agree it’s probably the over. But nothing compelling enough to make a strong case for.
Commanders at Eagles:
Degen and Greg favor on the Eagles, but Steak is punching the the Commanders. We all align on this under, and if forced it’s probably our highest conviction play of the weekend, but it’s still not anything we are overly excited about.
Josh Allen TD -115 (Degen’s Best Bet) YTD 12-7-1
From what I can tell, most people are tired of the Chiefs. I, like many others, have learned my lesson and do not want to fade Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs anymore. However one thing I’m doing that most of these people are not is BILL-ieving!
Josh Allen did play his best game nor impress much against the Ravens. Doesn’t matter - they got the job done. Kansas City’s defense is legit, but they were fortunate to play a Texans opponent with a terrible offense line, awful offensive coordinator and a QB with the worst pocket awareness I’ve seen all season. Josh Allen and this Bills offense is going to give them everything they can handle. I expect an Allen legacy game, and I see it with his legs.
Also, we’ve heard all week about how the Chiefs always get calls in their favor and the refs kiss Mahomes ass. How poetic would it be if we get a PI call in the end zone on Kansas City to set up Buffalo 1st and goal on the one. Then Josh rumbles bumbles and stumbles his way in. Not kidding, he might score 4 touchdowns.
Travis Kelce TD +120 (Greg’s Best Bet) YTD: 5-14-1
The last few years the Chiefs have been using Travis Kelce to perfection, and it’s led them to back to back Super Bowl wins.
It no special secret. Use him sparingly during the regular season, keep him healthy, and let him go off in the playoffs.
Last week he had his highest yardage performance of the season in his first playoff game. Kelce is within a few hundred yards and two TD’s of catching Jerry Rice in the all time playoff category. It’s going to be a stretch for him to get the record for yards this year, but TD’s is well within his grasps. You can be sure the Chief’s game plan includes a heavy dose of him in the red zone.
Everyone is well aware of Mark Andrew’s TWO plays that cost the Ravens the game last week against the Bills. But he was able to get opened all game and fellow TE, Isiah Likely, had a big performance as well with the late TD.
The Bills have struggled to find an answer for Kelce over the years, and I don’t see that changing.
AJ Brown TD +140 (Steak’s Best Bet) YTD: 6-12-1
For the FIRST time in AJ Browns career he’s matured and taken the team guy approach.
Whether it’s a case of his sideline reading material or the experience of making playoff runs in the past that’s giving him perspective, Brown’s attitude is a positive one for the Eagles as they push to make it to their second Super Bowl in three seasons.
