Ugly slate of games, but…
It’s the last full slate of games
This is it. Week 18. The grind of the NFL regular season comes to an end.
Going light again this week as Week 18 is loaded with very few games that actually have any meaning. Consider this the calm before the storm of the Playoffs, as this week will be a (reduced) best bets only card from us again.

NFL WEEK 18
After a brutal stretch in the NFL, we did our best to right the ship and finish strong. We grinned back a bit, but overall it just wasn’t our year. This was also the first time we decided to increase our best bets 2 units. That turned out to be a bad idea lol. Nevertheless, we look forward to the playoffs.
Full disclosure: given that this week is whacky and none of our reads are THAT strong, we are going to make our best bets 1 unit.
Panthers at Falcons -8.5 Total 48
You should already know by now that I hate the Atlanta Falcons. If you didn’t, here’s a quick video to remind you:
Despite going 1-5 down the stretch, the Carolina Panthers had a great finish to their season. In fact you could argue losing those games actually made it even better. They weren’t competing in the playoffs anyways so might as well improve the draft position. But Bryce Young looks like there may be some promise to actually being a franchise quarterback, and the offense seemed to be clicking. Their defense is a major issue that they’ll need to work on if they want to be a .500 team next year, but you have to have some confidence heading into the offseason as you almost beat the Chiefs, Eagles and Bucs. What better way to cap it all off than taking down the stupid Atlanta Falcons in their home stadium?
I will say this - I’m a Michael Penix guy. So far he’s looked solid and I give them credit for going on the road and almost beating the Washington Commanders in primetime. But with that loss, the Bucs are now in the drivers seat, as they will win the division and clinch a playoff birth with a win against the Saints today. This Panthers defense is so bad that I do think Penix, Bijan and London will all have big games, but I’m going to say that the Panthers don’t finish off this season without a fight and one more strong showing for their fanbase.

Chiefs at Broncos -10.5 Total 39.5 (Greg’s Best Bet) YTD: 5-12
If the Broncos win they’re in. If the Broncos lose, they need losses from the Bengals and Dolphins to limp into the playoffs. The Chiefs have clinched a first round BYE and will be resting starters.
It's been awhile since we've seen him, but Carson Wentz will get the start for the Chiefs.
Maybe I'm getting a bit cute, and it's very possible that I immediately regret betting on Wentz. But the Chiefs are still coached by Andy Reid, and even though they have nothing to play for, this is still a divisional game. I think you will see a lot of guys looking to step up and prove to the coaching staff that they deserve more playing time when the playoffs start.
One time Carson! One time!
The Pick: Chiefs +10.5 (-110) DK
Bengals at Steelers +2 Total 48.5 (Steak’s Best Bet) YTD: 6-11
Everyone is dying for the Bengals to make the playoffs. They’ve won four in a row, and even with a win in Pittsburgh they still need a lot of help. Before Steak gets carried away in the Bengals hype let's remember their four game winning streak includes wins over Cooper Rush, Mason Rudolph, DTR, and Bo Nix. Three backups and a rookie in Week 17.
On the other side, the Steelers couldn't be more dead. The Russ Honeymoon is over and the defense has looked absolutely gassed. This is the last stop on the Steelers gauntlet of a schedule down the stretch. Sure they lost three games in embarrassing fashion, but it was three games in ELEVEN days, three games against the Eagles, Ravens, and Chiefs. Absolutely Brutal.
Now, they get ten days to lick their wounds. The game doesn't mean much for the Steelers, but Steak says Tomlin is dying to stop the bleeding before the Playoffs start.
A win would secure a matchup against the Texans and a loss could mean having to play the Ravens again. Look for Tomlin to rally the troops.
